With God all things are possible.

Matthew 19:26

For a long time, I have heard stories of how people block rain that threatens to ruin events. It is said that organizers of events look for a local witch to do so. I can’t independently verify these claims, but I can boldly speak of how I have seen God hold back the rain.

On the last day of our one week gathering in Kautakou, Napak district God did something that will forever stay on my mind. People had traveled from as far as Namalu, Nakapiripit, Kotido and Kabong, some from as far as Gulu. All these are places over 100 miles from the venue.

As I prepared to close the meeting in which the Spirit of God had undoubtedly moved mightily, I noticed the clouds gather and it was obvious that a storm was imminent and the small tent that we had couldn’t shelter the 250 plus congregation. The rain formed such a thick canopy around us, and everyone knew it would be upon us in minutes. Ferrying people to Moroto which was the closest town was not an option since we didn’t even have enough cars to do so.

Within a short time, it started raining on all sides starting from Mt Moroto. Moments later, it was raining on all sides and it was approaching fast.

Let me tell you how powerful our God is. It was about 4pm and the sun remained overhead, yet it was totally dark around us. We all stood as the rain approached. It came really close and we could feel the cold breeze driven by the heavy winds. The rain came within inches of the gathering and then as if it was silently instructed, “Don’t go beyond this point” it stopped right at the boundary of the meeting venue!

A wall of dense rain formed all around us but the place where we stood was completely dry with the sun shining brightly! Everyone got up on their feet including the native herdsmen who had run to our side with their animals. We all saw the LORD that day. The 3-acre area where we gathered was dry, warm and bright yet it was wet, muddy and raining on all sides.

There was barely time to pray a rain stopping prayer. We could only stand and trust the LORD to stop the rain. I was counting on Him not to interrupt His own meeting. He did it all by Himself! For over two hours we stood amazed at what the LORD was doing. We were in the miracle. After the rain, the elders gathered and came to a conclusion that they will worship no other God except the LORD, and all gave their lives to Jesus.

Then they concluded that I needed a name to remind them of the miracle that God had done, they decided to call me “Lokiru, Lomuria, Lodou”. Now you will need a friend who can speak Nga’karimojong to translate that for you.

Imagine the things God can do for you. imagine the possibilities. Only believe.

Here is your Prayer Path

Dear Father, I believe you can do the impossible for me. In Jesus name. Amen
