With God all things are possible.
Matthew 19:26
I arrived Nairobi at 10:40am after taking that long trip from Entebbe through Addis for our monthly fellowship. Back then, we held meetings in homes. During this session, we were meeting at Meg and Dominic’s house in Karen.
The meeting started at about 4pm with introductions. It is then that I met Elizabeth, she sat like any other person, except she wasn’t feeling well. When it got dark, we moved the meeting from the backyard to the living room. After everyone had moved inside, Ada and Meg called me and led me towards Elizabeth who until then I hadn’t realized was crippled. I asked what the problem was, and Ada replied, ‘she is crippled and can’t walk by herself’. I was curious to know her story. Elizabeth couldn’t speak English and preferred to speak Swahili. She narrated her story in Swahili while Ada, our ministry host in Kenya translated. In 2009, she had an accident that dislocated 5 of her discs leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. She was admitted to Kenyatta Hospital, where the doctors recommended, she travel to India for an operation. She was barely able to financially support her family let alone raise money for this trip.
I asked how she came to know about the fellowship and why she believed she would get healed there. It turns out Meg’s first-born son, Mallon was a friend of hers and he had mentioned that I was going over to their house for the meeting and was certain that if I prayed for her, she would get healed.
I had never prayed for any crippled person before. I didn’t even think I had the faith at that particular moment, but when I looked into her eyes, I saw a woman who was on fire and who believed with all of her strength that she wasn’t going back home in a wheel chair. I asked her a simple question, “Do you believe that Jesus can heal you right now?” she said, ‘I believe’. if I didn’t, I wouldn’t have waited this long to meet you.
I asked her to bend while I lay my hand on her back, even that was painful. I called upon the name of the LORD and He heard our cry. After I prayed, I asked her to stand up and walk. She didn’t walk, she got up and ran. To this day, Elizabeth has enjoyed complete healing. Here is the interesting thing, she wasn’t born again then.
If God can do that for Elizabeth, imagine what He can do for you. Only Believe
Here is your Prayer Path
Dear Father, I believe. In Jesus name. Amen
