In His Presence #34: Emotional

In His Presence · #34 · 23.05.2020
I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.
Luke 15:17
Is God the Father capable of emotional expression! I mean is it even possible that the one who made the Heavens and the Earth, the Invisible God, the Almighty can spare a couple of minutes to reminisce emotions over you. His Word says, Yes. And I believe it.
Jesus gives us deep insight into His Fathers reaction regarding a rebellious son who had come to his senses after squandering his entire wealth. He decided to go back home and take up a lowly position.
It’s not the son’s actions that I want to draw your attention too, plausible as they were it’s the Fathers surge of emotion that I want to draw your attention too. In dealing with the prodigal son, we now know how God deals with us when we make that decision to go back to Him in genuine repentance.
Let’s take a look at what He did Luke 15:20, it tells us what He does with each of us;
- While he was still a long way, His Father saw him.
- He was filled with compassion for him
- He ran to his son
- Threw his hands around him & kissed him The next verse reveals our response, while we are too preoccupied with repentance and telling Him how unworthy we are, He on the other hand is overjoyed with compassion at the sight of you. Luke 15:22 • He gives you fresh garments of purity • Renews His commitment to you with a ring of love on your finger • With new sandals, He renews your purpose in life • With the fattened calf He fills your stomach with the best of blessings • Celebrates your return with a feast.
That’s what happens each time you return to Him, He reckons you back from the dead. Your life means much more to Him than castigation over failures. Go back to your Father.
Here is your Prayer Path
Dear Father, today I choose to come back to you. I know you love me. Thank you. In Jesus Name. Amen
