In His Presence #44: Get Up, Pick Up Your Mat and Walk (Part 4)

Hands folded in prayer over an open Bible

In His Presence · #44 · Get Up, Pick Up Your Mat and Walk Mini Series, Part 4 · 04.06.2020

Then Jesus said, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.

John 5:8-9

There are two schools of thought that I want to disagree with. One is saying, if it takes long then it’s not from the LORD. The other says, if it takes long then it’s not for me.

We seldom see God’s hand in delays. Truth is, the longer it takes for the answer to your prayer to manifest, the more you should hold on to the knowledge that, “He is Faithful”

Before you consider quitting on God, here are a few questions that I would like you to answer candidly.

  1. How long have you been waiting upon the LORD?
  2. Why did you decide to wait upon Him in the first place?
  3. Why didn’t you quit on Him when you first conceived the thought?
  4. Why have you persisted this long?
  5. What is the source of this foul thought that wants you to walk away?
  6. What does delay mean to you?
  7. What’s your interpretation of answered prayer?
  8. Do you think God is unjust in taking long to answer you?

The man at the pool had a reason to wait, it didn’t matter how long he had waited, he had one simple determination, “Either I am healed, or I stay right here”

What’s your determination? It says so much about long your willing to wait upon the LORD. When you determine in your heart that you will wait upon Him no matter how long it takes, you will find peace within and anxiety will flee from you.

May the man at the pool challenge you to wait a little longer. I know you don’t want to hear this right now, but it has to be said.

So, will you will you continue waiting upon the LORD?

Here is your Prayer Path

Dear Father, if that man could wait for 38 years, I will wait too. In Jesus name. Amen
