In His Presence #32: Because You Say

Hands folded over an open Bible

In His Presence · #32 · Late Edition · 19.05.2020

Master we have worked all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”

Luke 5:5

There are two ways of catching fish or anything else in life, first, you could try and go in alone and the second is you wait until, He says so. What is your preference?

Almost every one of us is familiar with the first approach, we wake up each day boiling with ideas, east, west, left, right and center, we give it our very best at times working 20 hour shifts, travel hundreds of miles just to be able to make ends meet and still catch very little or nothing at all.

One would wonder, why the hustle? Why does it have to be hard? Why should one toil so hard at times working like an elephant but eating like an ant? Why must one wait for long to get a small breakthrough while others seem to have it all figured out?

I will tell you why, it’s not that they are any better than you or that God loves them any better than you. They have a Word from the LORD regarding their current circumstance which you do not have. Their success depends on their willingness to act upon it.

Peter and the team toiled the whole night and still caught nothing, just like you perhaps. But when the LORD said, “Put out into the deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Luke 5:24. All they had to do after was simply to obey His Word.

It didn’t matter that they had labored all night in vain, it didn’t even matter that they had to do it all over again, to him, acting on the word of the LORD was more important than how they felt at that particular moment.

You could be in the same position, feeling all spent, frustrated and sorely disappointed that in the end it has come to nothing after everything you have been through. Friend, would you be willing to try again if the LORD said so?

Your only sure way of victory is this, delay every decision until He speaks. When He speaks, act without hesitation or delay. Your success depends on it.

Here is your Prayer Path

Dear Father, speak regarding my current circumstances and let your word be established in my life. In Jesus name. Amen.

Your Friend,
